Wewak the Provincial Capital of East Sepik Provice. The township is built at the foot of a high headland that overlooks the coast and nearby islands of Kairiru and Muschu, and Cape Wom in the east, the place where General Adachi finally surrendered to the allied forces near the end of WWII.
The attraction of this town are many, ranging from WWII relics, to the cultural attractions of the Sepik River and Lovely white sandy beach, right in town.
